YOU SHALL BE MY WITNESSES 2011
Friday, 08 April 2011 20:14

During these days of Lent something very unique is taking place in our parish.

Over 80 boys and girls and 30 parents are meeting each week, for four weeks, in the Sacred Heart School Hall, to follow a programme of preparation for Confirmation.

The programme YOU SHALL BE MY WITNESSES is being run for the 2nd time in Ballygall. It supports the work being done in the schools and also creates a place outside the classroom where the candidates can talk and learn

Parents, who have been trained, share their faith with the children while following a specific programme. This involves much preparation on their part. We thank them for their dedication and their courage in leading these groups of  lively 12 year olds.

We can only judge by the buzz of enthusiasm within this large group that something wonderful is happening here. We have to believe that the Sacrament of Confirmation will make a difference in their lives; that it will have an effect on the way they live; and that it will influence the kinds of decisions they make.
