Volunteers

Stewards and Indoor Collectors

A faithful and dedicated group of men and women provide a service that almost goes unnoticed. As well as helping with the two collections at all our Masses, they help our parishioners to their favourite seats, ensure proper ventilation and heat in our changing seasons. Stewards voluntarily attend and help at First Holy Communions, Confirmations, funerals and special ceremonies at Easter and Christmas. Stewarding is an important part of our Liturgies and with the help of new volunteers we will continue to do so in this wonderful parish of ours.

Church Cleaning

The environment in which we worship in very important. It is no accident that our church is always immaculate and kept to a very high standard. This is largely due to the dedication of a small number of people who clean the church one morning a week after 10am Mass. This involves hoovering, dusting, cleaning the church and sacristy and removing candle grease from the shrines. This is a big job and more volunteers are urgently needed to share the workload. Work can be done to suit the time of the volunteers.

Hospitality Group

hospitality_group

Fr. Moloney founded the hospitality group in 1988. From this Parishioners are invited to meet after 10am Mass on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays for light refreshments, free of charge. It is a means of contact for everyone, especially those living alone or lonely to meet and chat. All are welcome to room A/B after Mass for a cup of tea or coffee. A dedicated team of helpers provide this service on a rota basis. This team also provide hospitality for all functions held in our Parish Church during the year.

Repository

The Repository/Church Shop was opened to respond to a need in the parish.. People were looking for Mass/Sympathy cards which would honour the celebration of Mass. We stock Sympathy Cards, Mass Bouquets and a variety of other cards. Also in stock are Statues, Mass books for First Communion and Confirmation, Baptism Cards and Candles and much much more. Catholic papers are also available each week.

Altar Servers

Our Altar Servers are a group of children between 7-13 years who have received their First Holy Communion and are happy to come along every Sunday to serve Mass. The primary role of the altar server is to assist the priest in the celebration of the Liturgy during Mass. We invite any boys or girls aged between 7-13 to come along and share this special privilege of becoming an altar server in our Parish.
